 The historic ruins of Windsor.

Jackson, and all of Mississippi, is rich in history and heritage. Jackson boasts an array of beautiful architecture and significant antebellum homes including the Manship House , the Old Capital Museum , the Oaks House , and the Millsaps Buie House . Nearby Natchez, Mississippi is said to have been so beautiful that Union troops were moved to spare many of the cities fine homes during the Civil War. And the desolate beauty of the ruins of Windsor is sure to be a favorite memory.

The Natchez Trace parkway , once a major trading route between Memphis and Natchez, runs through the Jackson area. The Trace offers a variety of activities of educational, historical, and environmental interest all within an easy day's drive.
